My friend loves Rae Dunn. She goes hunting and probably has the most extensive collection of Rae Dunn items one has ever seen. Her house is like a museum of Rae Dunn collectibles. Seriously.

For her 34th birthday, we went to a restaurant in San Mateo called Wursthall and we thought it would be hilarious if we Rae Dunn her birthday with puns and get her a white cake with CAKE written on it. Here’s how it all turned out!

How it was done:

  • Sash ribbon and fabric paint from Michael’s with “Dunn with 33!” Written on it.
  • Finding a white cake isn’t the easiest task! All the cakes I found at Whole Foods and Paris Baguette had either flowers or fruit on them. Finally, Safeway had a semi plain cake and the bakery ladies helped me scrape all the frosting off of the cake and write “CAKE” on it. Yeah, I got some weird looks from people waiting behind me.
  • For kicks, I wrote “BOX” on the cake box.
  • The food labels on toothpicks are from Target.

Rae Dunn’s font is pretty easy, and just searching birthday on Pinterest gives a good variety of items and how to write it correctly. Mine are not the greatest but my friend really enjoyed it! Yay!

Hope this inspires you to Rae Dunn your friend’s birthdays. I know we’ll be having more Rae Dunn themed parties for her like a baby shower in the future! Haha

Ps: here’s the free download for a Rae Dunn inspired font if you’d rather print things and make decals!!
